The Northwest Economic Development District is reopening its previously advertised position for an Economic Development Planner. This is a newly formed district serving Flathead, Lake, Lincoln and Sanders Counties and requires someone with excellent administrative skills to assist in developing the full potential of the organization.
Economic Development Planner
Permanent, full time position working various days and hours to accommodate economic development meetings and program needs for a new economic development organization representing a four-county region in northwest Montana. Wage is negotiable. Successful applicant may reside in any one of the four counties and will work out of the nearest participating local development organization’s office. Responsibilities to include facilitating community and economic development planning in order to identify and establish economic development opportunities and projects throughout the 4-county region; identify opportunities for regional economic development in order to develop sectors, projects and initiatives; secure funding for economic development activities and programs; promote the region in order to expand economic development opportunities; and perform other related duties as required. Initially a one-person office with support provided from other sources as needed. Must have strong administrative skills and considerable knowledge of State and Federal grants and other development programs. Must have any combination of education and experience equivalent to bachelor's degree in public business administration/urban planning/economics/ or related field and extensive professional experience in community economic development. Must have reliable transportation and a valid Montana State Driver's License or the ability to obtain one. Mileage reimbursement will be provided. This position will cover Flathead, Lake, Lincoln and Sanders counties.
