Oregon Investment Fund beefs up local investments
| March 15, 2008 |
Administrators of a fund designed to fuel state pension coffers caught flak last year for not investing enough money locally.
Yet the Oregon Investment Fund http://www.oregoninvestmentfund.com/ is gaining new fans, at least among companies that have received its disbursements and the capital firms through which it invests.
The fund has now committed more than $94 million to 10 venture capital, buyout and seed-stage funds. It also plans to commit another $10 million to an 11th fund.
Once the new fund is completed, the overall $108 million worth of investments will mark about a 25 percent increase from the end of 2006.
