Venture Capital: Washington State University spin-out, Recodagen Corp. gets an Accelerator cash infusion

Accelerator http://www.acceleratorcorp.com/ , the Seattle business incubator for life science companies, has helped bankroll ideas from CalTech, Iowa State and the University of Washington.

Now, it is announcing an investment in Recodagen Corp., a cancer research startup spun out of Washington State University.

Carl Weissman, president of Accelerator, declined to disclose the specific amount. But he said the money was within the $2 million to $5 million range that it typically invests in early-stage companies.

Recodagen Corporation is Seventh New Start-Up Launched by Accelerator

Accelerator Corporation, a privately held biotechnology investment and development company, announced today the formation of Recodagen Corporation, the seventh company in the Accelerator portfolio. The syndicate of investors leading the Series A investment in Recodagen included Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Amgen Ventures, ARCH Venture Partners, OVP Venture Partners and WRF Capital.
