Mindsite to offer help on mental health issues
| March 5, 2008 |
David Eraker is gearing up to start a new online service called Mindsite http://www.mindsite.com/ that will try to help people find relevant information related to mental health issues.
Best known for founding Redfin, Eraker left the Seattle online real estate startup a few months after it raised an $8 million venture round in May 2006.
Though Mindsite is in a completely different industry, Eraker is drawing on some of his past experience from the real estate business. Just as Redfin licenses data from Multiple Listing Services, Mindsite has licensed a large chunk of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Much of the content in that handbook -- produced by the American Psychiatric Association -- has not been available online, he said.
