Technology Brings Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary to Classrooms Nationwide

NOAA's National Marine Sanctuary Program http://sanctuaries.noaa.gov/ will use innovative Internet and satellite technology to transport students across the country to a scientific expedition in Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary http://www.montereybay.noaa.gov/ . The experience, which will feature the use of broadcasts from autonomous underwater vehicles, will be accessible on the Internet and telecast to a network of partner Boys and Girls Clubs across the nation via satellite.
The daily live broadcasts, which are part of a larger interdisciplinary science curriculum designed for upper elementary and middle school students, will air from March 2-7, at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. EST on OceansLIVE.org http://oceanslive.org/portal/ and Immersionpresents.org http://www.immersionpresents.org/ Web sites.
