Italian brothers find middle of Montana is a great place to start a global business - Bottega Montana in Lima, Montana
| March 3, 2008 |
For Francesco and Marco Gillia, this ranching town was the place the brothers could make their dream come true.
It's a long way from Italy, where the Gillias were born and raised. They sometimes long for the wine, the mozzarella cheese and other aspects of life in their native country. And the seclusion of Lima, with barely more than 200 full-time residents, can get to anyone.
But Lima is also a place that allows Francesco, 35, and Marco, 32, complete freedom from the stresses of city life. And that, Francesco said, lets them focus on turning out wood furniture of a quality that will last for decades.
