The Seattle Division of Safeway Inc. (NYSE:SWY) announced today the culmination of their charitable contributions in 2007 throughout their four-state region, including Washington, Montana, Idaho and Alaska. With a longstanding history of investing in all the communities they serve, Safeway contributed in excess of $32.5 million to non-profit organizations by way of cash, gift cards and in-kind goods and services. Benefiting charities were those with an emphasis on health and human services, special needs and education, and fighting hunger.
