Montana producers plot path for growth with value-added agriculture

A panel of five large-scale Golden Triangle food and beverage producers told an interim legislative committee Thursday about some of their successes and expansion plans.
The speakers also told the lawmakers that Montana has drawbacks that make the growth in such value-added agriculture and food-processing plants more difficult. Those drawbacks include a lack of some skilled workers, not enough training and research help from state colleges and high rail transport costs.
