LA Aluminum Casting http://www.laaluminum.com/ to build military equipment for Iraq
A pair of government contracts will mean a handful of new manufacturing jobs at LA Aluminum Casting Co.
The company was recently awarded a $1 million federal contract for components for towable tanks being used by the military for transporting water and fuel in Iraq. The tanks carry 3,000 to 5,000 pounds of fuel.
The other contract is a partnership between LA Aluminum Casting and Berg Integrated Systems http://www.bergco.com/ in Plummer, to supply 6-inch drain and fill fittings on their $4 million contract to build 210,000-gallon fuel bladders also being used in Iraq and available for disaster relief anywhere in the world. The fittings are used at each end of the bladders.
