It pays to be the boss.
Chief executive officers earn substantially more money than anyone else in the private sector, according to a new bizjournals analysis of more than 300 occupations.
The typical CEO makes $240,903 per year, based on salary data collected from U.S. companies between December 2005 and January 2007. That translates to $4,633 per week or $103.76 per hour of work.
