Butte public schools: Parents launch education foundation
| February 4, 2008 |
In 2006, after listening to a somber presentation on the state of finances of the Butte public schools, a group of Butte residents knew something needed to be done.
It was then that the seeds for the Butte-Silver Bow Public Schools Education Foundation were planted.
“We’ve been meeting for two years and it’s kind of settled down to the four of us,” said Mary Mulcaire-Jones, who along with Danette Gleason, Susanne Dauenhauer and Margaret Leary Elementary Principal Jim O’Neill, form the core group. All are parents of children who attend Butte public schools.
