The Montana Economic Revitalization and Development Institute of Butte gets $7.5M polysilicon recycling project
| February 3, 2008 |
A new, polysilicon recycling plant that may create up to 32 jobs within the next year is proposed for the industrial park west of Butte.
MERDI, the Montana Economic Revitalization and Development Institute of Butte, is seeking some $7.5 million to build a 16,000-square-foot building that will house $2 million in recycling equipment, officials told The Montana Standard recently.
“There is only one other polysilicon recycling plant in the nation, and that is in California and is owned by a German company,” said Jim Kambich, MERDI president and chief executive officer.
