Idaho loses 500 farms, ranches from from 2006 to 2007

The number of farms and ranches in Idaho in 2007 totaled 24,500, down 500 from 2006, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service.
Total land in farms in Idaho, at 11.7 million acres, was down 100,000 acres. The average size of farm was 478 acres.
