Davidson Companies, the Great Falls-based financial services firm from which 226,000 clients' names and Social Security numbers were stolen by a computer hacker, fielded thousands of calls Wednesday, the day after the news was released.
A hacker broke into the company's database sometime in late December or early January, said company spokeswoman Jacquie Burchard. The break-in was discovered in mid-January and was reported to federal law enforcement authorities.
