Gov. Gregoire taps Milbergs to implement Washington's business plan

Egils Milbergs has been appointed by Gov. Chris Gregoire to head Washington's new Economic Development Commission.
According to the governor, Milbergs will "play a key role in updating the state's economic development vision and strategies."
Milbergs is the founder and president of the Center for Accelerating Information, and from 1998 to 2003, he was president of the National Coalition for Advanced Manufacturing.
The Economic Development Commission consists of 18 people, with 11 appointed by the governor.
The state's business plan is called "Next Washington," http://www.governor.wa.gov/news/Next ... r_FINAL.pdf and Gregoire said in a statement that "we can create even more family wage jobs in Washington by streamlining our state economic development initiatives."
