Saving rural America: Author, Jack Schultz of the Boomtown Institute offers suggestion for growing areas
| January 21, 2008 |
Jack Schultz http://boomtownusa.blogspot.com/ didn't expect there were many 10-year-olds in the audience on Thursday morning, but he did ask them to stand up anyway. Then he extended the invitation to everyone up to age 27.
Introducing the handful who stood up as the "millennials," he said, "This is the generation that will be the most entrepreneurial in the history of the country, since the 1800s. "They've got it in their genes to start new businesses."
Nurturing this generation will pay off in innovative companies that will provide jobs, give back generously to their community and provide the tax revenue that communities want so badly, Schultz said, adding that they might do more by giving more too.
