Gov. Doyle proposes new economic development programs for Wisconsin

Gov. Jim Doyle unveiled a package of economic development initiatives Monday designed to spur investment in new businesses.
The proposals, all of which need legislative approval, include bolstering grant and loan programs, increasing tax breaks and speeding up investment in startup businesses. Doyle outlined the proposal, dubbed Accelerate Wisconsin, at a meeting of Thrive, the Madison Region Economic Development Enterprise.
