Building a future: Plan to outline what Missoula, Montana should look like over next 20 years
| December 27, 2007 |
A vision of how Missoula will grow and retain its vibrant core will unfold over the next nine months as a new downtown plan evolves.
A blueprint is needed to help guide growth over the next 20 years, when the city's population is expected to reach about 100,000 residents.
The plan will encompass the sometimes clashing views of retailers, professionals, neighborhood leaders, historic preservation advocates, government entities and others in the community.
“No matter where you live in Missoula, everybody in the community has a healthy interest in a vibrant downtown,” said Linda McCarthy, executive director of the Missoula Downtown Association.
