Directors breathe new life into Ravalli County Museum
| December 26, 2007 |
Somewhere deep down inside, John Recore knew there was something missing those first few days he walked the staid halls of the Ravalli County Museum http://www.visitmt.com/categories/mo ... 33&SiteId=1 . Tamar Stanley felt it, too.
They were both new to this place where the history of the valley was stored.
In among the displays of arrowheads, stone axes and quill-pattern beaded yokes; the murals of historic Darby and Hamilton circa 1915; and the interpretive exhibit of Lewis and Clark's famous expedition, something wasn't there.
It didn't take long for the pair to realize what was lacking.
"It was missing the sound of children," Recore said. "This place just didn't seem alive."
