City Club Missoula hosts discussion of arts as inspiration, economic force

Defining the arts in terms of dollars and cents, using charts and graphs and crunching numbers is all fine, but it's the intangible value of art that most concerns Barb Koostra.
“It's my pleasure to talk about the right side of the brain,” said the executive director of the Montana Museum of Art & Culture at the University of Montana.
Koostra addressed City Club Missoula http://www.cityclubMissoula.org at lunchtime Friday, distancing herself from the numbers of an economic study that pegged the value of the nonprofit arts community in Missoula at $34 million annually.
