Execute the Company’s http://chinookwireless.com/ short-range and long-range business objectives through effective marketing analysis and strategy.
Primary responsibilities include; Public Relations, Advertising, Promotions, Competitive Analysis, Market positioning, Market research, Company Graphics and trademarks, Ad agency management, Pricing, Marketing training, Product & Services development, and Sales Channel distribution services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute the overall marketing strategy to effectively and efficiently drive brand and product awareness.
*Execution of marketing strategy, programs, and promotions to ensure marketing and product positioning for company growth and expansion.
*Target and implement competitive areas of the market and determine the appropriate marketing mix to drive product penetrations.
*Execute Strategic Programs/Partnerships.
*Provide direction on the creation of product education tools and training resources that enable sales associates to effectively communicate product features and benefits to consumers.
*Collaboration with Strategic Channels including Dealer, Retail and Direct Channel.
*Develop product launch plans and ensure execution. Lead product launch team and manage timelines and budget. Coordination and distribution of all product launch materials.
*Provide input and direction into the Field Marketing Coordinator team’s planned initiatives to drive product positioning, program execution, and key product training and launches.
*Prepare and distribute standardized marketing reports including Program Execution checklists.
*Work with Executive management and Director of Sales to create and implement successful channel sales plans.
MARKET ANALYSIS
- Analyze and define market for product growth and development.
- Researches, analyzes and monitors financial, technological and demographic factors so that market opportunities can be capitalized on and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized.
- Maintain a served-market analysis defining: total market, company market share (penetration) and competitor market share, and available market share by product.
- Research and analyze specific industry developments and trends that may affect present and future marketing needs of the company.
FORECAST
- Research and provide data to prepare, update, and control forecasts in all areas of Business Development.
- Coordinate company’s future market growth plans with direction from executive management.
- Develop working knowledge of new products and services in the industry and analyze market potential.
MARKETING AND BUSINESS PLANNING
- Develop marketing plans, business plans, sales strategies, and action plans for identified targets of business opportunity for all product and services.
- Establishes marketing goals to ensure share of marketing and profitability of company’s products and services.
- Execute Company’s advertising and promotion activities, including overseeing: print, electronic, radio, television, copywriting, design, layout, and production of promotional materials.
- Develops and recommends pricing strategies for product lines and ensures effective control of marketing results to be certain the achievement of marketing objectives are within designated budgets.
- Evaluates market reactions to advertising programs, store merchandising and products to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet the changing competitive landscape.
- Plan and implement the company’s public relations activities, including representing the company at civic and professional functions.
- Maintain continuous contact with appropriate industry organizations, including CTIA – keep company current with industry marketing standards.
- Maintain good working relationship with local media outlets, outside advertising agencies and other products vendors.
- Establish and maintain efficient work relationship and communication with other departments to ensure consistent promotion of products and services and overall efficiency.
- Direct and supervise any outside contracted services related to marketing, within company guidelines.
- Works with graphic design and assists in overseeing copywriting, design, layout and production of collateral and promotional materials.
- Work effectively with entire team to ensure both internal and external customer expectations are met or exceeded at all times.
- Manage multiple associates and be expected to provide support and development to his/her group in achieving the goals of the department.
REPORTING
- Provide reports to management as required and /or requested.
- Provide monthly departmental report to executive management as required. FISCAL
- Responsible for developing annual budget for marketing department.
- Manage the overall company budget, forecast and strategic planning activities.
- Provide monthly budget update to supervisor.
- Develop and approve department expenditures.
Additional Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to fulfill job function or as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Company policies, procedures, products and services.
- General office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of the wireless network.
- Computer based programs (Excel, Microsoft office products)
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Skill to:
- Assess marketing standards and guidelines.
- Perform technical procedures.
- Operate various office equipment such as; a computer, 10-key machine, copy machine, fax machine and multi- line telephone.
General Company Requirements:
- The Director of Marketing candidate will possess the following experience and characteristics:
- College degree, MBA preferred
- Previous Marketing experience in a product or technology services company or advertising agency
- Excellent communication skills
- High energy level
- Team oriented work approach
- Previous supervisory experience
- A self starter attitude, able to operate with minimal direct supervision to achieve required objectives
- Demonstrated ability to create successful marketing programs
- Wireless industry experience would be helpful, but not required
- Possess a strategic mind able to develop company marketing direction recommendations from various data sources
