Montana Food Bank Network loses crucial semi for deliveries. Anyone got a BIG RIG????

The Montana Food Bank Network http://www.montanafoodbanknetwork.org/ has a serious problem.

The group, which provides food to about 190 food banks and charities around the state, has two semi-tractor trailers that do its delivery and pick-up. Now one of those trucks is shut down with engine troubles.

The truck, a 1995 Freightliner with more than 600,000 miles on it, needs major repair work. In fact, it might not be worth fixing. In either case, the Food Bank Network doesn’t have enough cash in its budget to solve the problem.

“There’s no money in the budget for this extensive repair bill or to buy a new one,” said Emily McKeever, the network’s finance director.

The trouble comes at the worst of times, as the holidays approach and the network is seeing fewer donations because of a tougher economy.

If you can help, call the Montana Food Bank Network at 721-3825.
