Methow Valley Arts is Partnering with Stone Soup to Reach Broader Markets

November 26, 2007View for printing

Help Stone Soup and Methow Arts celebrate their new partnership by logging in to http://www.shopthefrontier.org and entering to win the $500 shopping spree!

Just in time for the holidays Methow Valley Arts, the central hub for art and artists in the Methow Valley in north central Washington, is partnering with Stone Soup and Shop the Frontier to promote and sell the work of its artists. Shop the Frontier is a non-profit, online marketplace designed to promote rural artists and craftspeople and connect them with the urban buyer. Established in November, 2005 Shop the Frontier has already received 500,000 individual visits and over 3 million hits. Stone Soup is the parent organization of Shop the Frontier.

Now for the first time, artists on the Methow Valley Arts database will get the opportunity to sell their work online through a robust and fully equipped e-commerce environment. In addition, these artists will benefit from the aggressive marketing and promotions efforts of Stone Soup and Shop the Frontier.

The announcement of the partnership coincides with Shop the Frontier’s new design which features easier navigation to artists, a search feature which lists artists and artisans by community and a cleaner overall design. The new look better reflects Stone Soup’s goal of creating new economic opportunities that benefit working rural families and minimize impacts to the landscape.

There will be no charge to artists on the Methow Valley Arts database to participate in this partnership.
