Ensi-Med: Wages still unpaid in Butte
| November 20, 2007 |
Former employees of Ensi-Med http://ensimed.com/home.html , a telemedicine start-up company in Butte, still haven’t been paid after filing complaints in July with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry Wage and Hour Unit, saying their payroll checks bounced.
“We are actively pursuing collections at this point,” said Amy Smith, a compliance specialist with the Department of Labor and Industry. “There hasn’t been any real true progress.” Ensi-Med, located on the third floor of the Thornton Building, 65 E. Broad- way St., uses broadband networks to connect patients and doctors through video phone conferencing and allows for transmission of medical records.
Documents filed in Lewis and Clark District Court in Helena last week show the state applied for judgment against Ensi-Med for $5,250 in unpaid wages and penalties plus $125 in fees for Barbara Hill, a former executive assistant who was fired after talking to The Montana Standard about not being paid.
