Talk to economists, and they'll tell you the Puget Sound region and Washington state are holding up better than most in the storm kicked up by the subprime housing fiasco.
Job growth and in-migration are strong, they say, and the region's economy is as diverse as it has ever been.
But here's the Black Swan you'll want to watch out for: the region's lack of affordable housing.
