Opting out of catalog lists is a click away. Web Site Helps Stop Unwanted Mailings
| November 16, 2007 |
Sarah Morse loves holiday catalogs. Not only do they inspire shopping ideas, they lift her spirits.
"The warm pictures get me in the festive mood, and I also get to see the trends for this year," Morse said this week in an e-mail exchange.
But even Morse, a San Jose resident and project manager for VeriSign, would like to get fewer catalogs, an estimated 20 billion of which are being mailed to Americans throughout this year.
Catalog Choice (http://www.catalogchoice.org) is a project of three environmental organizations: the National Wildlife Federation in Virginia, the Natural Resources Defense Council in New York and the Ecology Center in Berkeley.
