The Wage & Benefits Metric - Building Economic Engines
| November 5, 2007 |
Are you trying to determine whether a proposed business is right for your community? This free, web-based easy-to-use tool can help. The Wage & Benefits Metric is designed to help local decision makers measure just what kind of jobs this new business would bring into the local economy: living wage, minimum wage, full- or part-time, with benefits or without.
This Web-based tool uses a point-scale system to evaluate jobs based on wage and benefit levels. Organizations can use it to identify the types of jobs in their loan portfolio, local economy or region, and to analyze trends in job growth and attributes over time. The Wage & Benefits Metric will provide an assessment of job quality by business and generate a number of reports for internal and external stakeholders. More about the Metric.
