What if we didn't assume that growth was good? What if we looked for rural places that were prosperous instead? What would we find?

This is fascinating! Many of us who work for statewide organizations treat Eastern Montana like the underdogs when, in reality, those counties are, overall, doing better than the high growth areas in NW Montana. It's so nice to see more positive news about Eastern Montana. This changes my perspective about our work to increase philanthropic assets in rural areas. Eastern Montana has stronger potential than we give that area credit for! |
