Economic report card marks trends
Education, education and education. Often cited as the most important aspect of economic development, the topic comes up repeatedly when area business leaders gather at luncheons, breakfasts and forums.
A downtown Seattle meeting Thursday of 800 leaders, including Gov. Chris Gregoire, to discuss the region's newest economic report will be no different. Churning out more degrees and boosting high school graduation rates are expected to be key topics during panel discussions and speeches.
