Big Sky EDA/EDC Approve Cash Incentive, Lease for GE Corporation in Billings, Montana

An incentive package from local economic development groups has helped finance a national corporation’s project and induced the company to choose Billings as the future location of its operations center in Billings, according to officials. The Big Sky Economic Development Authority and the Economic Development Corporation have approved the awarding of $50,000 per year for 10 years to GE Commercial Finance to build a operations center on county-owned property, which they will lease.
According to Joe McClure Director of BSEDA/EDC the deal is subject to GE’s commitment to create 15 new jobs at 120% of the county average wage (which is currently $16.18 per hour).
