Leadership Improv Comedy , 10/29, Montana State University
| October 19, 2007 |
On Monday, October 29th at 7:30 pm in MSU’s Strand Union Building ballrooms, the public is invited to a leadership improv comedy show titled Leadership Inside Out.
The Spontaneous Combustibles and the improv gurus of the Equinox Theatre Company provide a guided tour of the split-second leadership decisions that happen every moment onstage during improv comedy. Take a revealing look into the brains of improv comedians as leadership is shared, avoided, and stolen - all in the name of a good laugh. Play along with Bozeman's most celebrated improv comics as they invite the audience into the driver's seat to witness first hand adventures - and desperate misadventures - that make every leader's heart race.
The Spontaneous Combustibles Improv Comedy Troupe, or called SponCo to their friends, are a part of Bozeman’s own Equinox Theatre Company. They have performed across the northwest over the last dozen years for corporate clients such as Adobe Software, NorthWest Energy, Walmart, and are now looking to explain their behind the scenes leadership secrets to the Bozeman community.
“We want to pop the lid off leadership” says SponCo founder Soren Kisiel. Leadership Inside Out will be an in-depth look at the insides of improv comedy, the split second decisions or mistakes, and how talent, luck and leadership all come together into one hilarious show. Kisiel will be joined by SponCo members, Craig Stauber, Brian Dugan, and his fellow Equinox Theatre co-founders Kent Davis and Katie Goodman. “We also guarantee that in the process of dissecting our comedy, we won’t kill any of the jokes,” Kisiel added.
“This is a new a way to demonstrate Leadership, without using a lecture, celebrity, or hero,” says Keese Lane, a senior student associate at the MSU Leadership Institute http://www.montana.edu . “With Leadership Inside Out, we want to show people how leadership decisions are made day-to-day and in all walks of life - it’s grass roots leadership” added Lane.
Leadership Inside Out is sponsored by ASMSU and the MSU Leadership Institute. It is free, open to the public, and is rated PG-13. Parking is free on campus after 6 pm. For more information call the MSU Leadership Institute http://www.montana.edu/leadership at 994-7275.
