“Innovate North Dakota http://www.innovatend.com is about encouraging our young entrepreneurs throughout the state of North Dakota to pursue their dreams and develop great business concepts into new businesses,” Hoeven said.

Participants pay a $100 fee to gain access to a venture building process that includes online entrepreneur education, business planning tools, and mentoring. The top winners, selected by a panel of private investors, receive up to $10,000 in cash prizes and a variety of business services.

“It’s for the innovators in the state to really grow a very solid venture,” said Bruce Gjovig, University of North Dakota Center for Innovation director.
