Idaho Gov. Otter moves state energy office to his direct oversight and elevates it to a cabinet-level position
| September 25, 2007 |
Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter has moved the Division of Energy Resources to his own office from the Department of Water Resources, making it a cabinet-level position.
The shift _ which gives the governor more direct oversight of the office _ was made in an executive order without fanfare on Sept. 4, and the order wasn't added to the governor's Web site until last week.
The move surprised some members of the Legislature's Energy, Environment and Technology Interim Committee, which had no word of the planned change at their last meeting late in August.
