“The China Threat: Myth or Reality” Experts at Mansfield Conference say watch rise of China

While we've been watching Iraq, we've missed some big news out of China, experts at the 23rd annual Mansfield Conference warned Thursday.

“The China Threat: Myth or Reality” brought together professionals from the Chinese government, universities and American institutions to the University of Montana to analyze the “gravitational shift” China is creating in Asia and the world.

China has outpaced Japan, is closing on Germany and may soon eclipse the United States in global economic production. But while its potential to become a business bully or even a military aggressor remain real, speakers agreed the United States should see China as more of a dilemma than a threat.
