Montana University Regents hear ideas to solve university hiring woes

Montana State University has a tough time hiring and keeping good employees, from professors to custodians, and this week the Montana Board of Regents will hear recommendations on how to start solving the problem.
A report from the Montana University System Recruitment & Retention Task Force is expected to be one of the highlights when the Board of Regents meets in Billings today and Friday.

Regents told pay scales are too low
Faculty and staff salaries at state colleges and universities are in a crisis level and threaten the quality of education, the Montana Board of Regents was told Thursday.
During its first full day of meetings at Montana State University Billings, regents reviewed a report from a retention and recruitment task force they had created to look at problems with employee turnover.
