University of Montana scientists upset over lab move

Cardboard boxes lined the basement corridor of the University of Montana's Natural Sciences Building on Monday, spilling over with research notes, reference guides, books and charts.
“Those are the gut piles of the Clancy Gordon lab along the wall,” explained Vicki Watson, a professor of environmental studies. “The meat of the lab has already been moved.”
Pained by the sight, Watson further explained that the Clancy Gordon Environmental Sciences Laboratory, the birthplace of UM's prestigious environmental studies program and home to its research for 37 years, has been kicked out of its spacious quarters by UM's top brass.
