Lighhawk to give birds eye view of Bitterroot Valley development
| September 18, 2007 |
In an effort to create dialogue about conservation and planning issues among local officials and involved citizens, Friends of the Bitterroot in conjunction with LightHawk, a volunteer pilot association, is hosting the Bitterroot Big Sky view project.
From Sept. 17-19 LightHawk pilot Steve Garman will fly participants from one end of the valley to the other giving them a bird's-eye view of the land and a more complete perspective on issues such as streamside setbacks, riparian corridor restoration and subdivision planning. LightHawk is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to champion environmental protection through the unique perspective of flight.
