Next new thing: innovation zone?

The latest effort to boost Southwest Washington's high-tech economy would create a research park dubbed an "innovation zone."
Modeled on Research Triangle Park, home to more than 39,000 full-time high-tech jobs in North Carolina, an innovation zone in Southwest Washington would bring together entrepreneurs, academic researchers, big businesses and government support, said Bart Phillips, president of the Columbia River Economic Development Council.
