Indonesian ambassador builds UM connections

Building ties with the University of Montana could help Indonesian students get a better education while improving the world's impression of a majority Muslim nation, according to Indonesian Ambassador Sudjadnan Parnohadiningrat.
“We play an important role in the stability of Asia and on the global level generally,” Parnohadiningrat said during a visit with UM's international programs director Mehrdad Kia on Friday. “There are 200 million Muslims in Indonesia who are not promoting violence. We're seeking a better foothold in spreading the facts about Indonesia.”
