SeaCast in 2008 in Butte, Montana

Roughly a year from now, Butte-Silver Bow should start reaping the benefits of an economic development project that has been in the works for quite some time. Come September 2008, hot metal should finally be pouring into molds at a brand new SeaCast Inc. light manufacturing plant in the Tax-Increment-Financing-Industrial-District west of town.
Founded by Butte-raised brothers Mike and Bert Robins, the Seattle-based company makes precision metal parts for Boeing, General Electric and others in the aerospace, medical, appliance and automotive industries, among others. This new $4.5 million Butte plant will add titanium casting processes to the com-pany offerings, allowing them to contract with an even more diverse industry base. Company spokesman Ron Ueland said 80 new high-quality jobs should be created right off the bat.
