Idaho Governor's Science & Technology Advisory Council ponders new direction
| August 23, 2007 |
"Today we are further behind surrounding states than we were three years ago."
While surrounding states like Utah and Oregon have been pouring millions into promoting the high-tech industry, Idaho has done little to help build the industry that provides wages that are double the average in Idaho.
The advisory board may no longer be effective in its current configuration, the council chairman suggests.
There may soon be a new version of the Governor's Science & Technology Advisory Council.
"It's a good time to step back and see where we have been and where we are going and determine if this (the council) is the vehicle we want to drive in," John Grossenbacher, council chair, said at the council's quarterly meeting Wednesday in Boise.
