Backyard treasure. The National Center for Appropriate Technology in Butte, Montana

The National Center for Appropriate Technology http://www.ncat.org/ could be located, well, anywhere in the country since it’s a national organization. Fortunately it landed in Butte about 30 years ago, thanks largely to the efforts of Dr. Jerry Plunkett and the late U.S. Sen. Mike Mansfield, always a friend to the Mining City.
And now for the second year in a row, NCAT is reaching out to share its expertise by hosting a sustainability festival at its headquarters on 3040 Continental Drive.
