Entrepreneur, George Garlick offers Curtis, Nebraska another big boost

Through development of a high-tech, holographic ultrasound scanner, George Garlick has made millions of dollars with his 12-year-old business in Richland, Wash.
But Garlick, a native of Quick, now a southwest Nebraska ghost town, has never forgotten the strong work ethic and integrity he learned on the Plains.

The 70-year-old entrepreneur, who gave $1 million a year ago to help build a new community hall in Curtis, Neb., now is taking another step toward giving back.

It would be more accurate to say that Dr. Garlick made his fortune by owning and leasing laboratory and office space to contractors and research organizatiions. Dr. Garlick has invested a considerable amount of money in the development and adaptation of an ultrasonic imaging technoloty for use in medical diagnostics and in making the medical community aware of this technology. |
