Montana Board of Public Ed decision threatens dual-credit classes
| July 18, 2007 |
The last two years of high school were the best for Mason Browne, a 2006 graduate of Senior High.
He took computer programming classes at Rocky Mountain College because he had "run out of classes" at Senior.
The classes earned him both high school and college credits, giving him a head start on a college degree. He now attends Montana State University in Bozeman and is working full-time as a computer programmer.
Browne is one of many high school students who have taken college classes at Rocky or Montana State University-Billings. In more far-flung districts in the state, students earn dual credit by taking online courses.
