Bozeman officially has a work force housing ordinance on the books.
The ordinance, which the Bozeman City Commission adopted Monday night, mandates that developers and builders of most new subdivisions put price controls on some homes in their projects in an effort to make about 10 percent of each new neighborhood affordable to people in the commission's target income range.
The ordinance aims to help people earning between 80 percent and 120 percent of the area median income, which currently translates into roughly $45,000 to $68,000, depending on family size.
