Montana Career Opportunity – Website Migration Implementer Utilizing Drupal

Business wants to re-plumb their content site. It is currently run on Vignette StoryServer CMS and an old Oracle database on Sun servers. It does not support blogs or forums, or the newer types of ad serving formats.

We are seeking to migrate the existing site and content to a new software and hardware platform, preferably using open-source software. It has been suggested we take a look at Drupal for our new Web Content Management System. It is very strong in terms of the tools for community-building, which is something we are very interested in. Here are some interesting links:

Among the key features we would like to retain are:

* database of over 10,000 articles,

* new articles easy to post, and

* ads served up in a contextually-relevant manner.

Example: when a user is reading an article reviewing Photoshop, they get ads including Amazon links related to Photoshop, color correction, etc.

Plus, these new features:
* blogs,
* forums,
* reader comments on articles,
* easy to "re-skin" i.e., change look and feel, and
* highly flexible, while easy to administer.

We want someone smart, flexible, communicative, and hopefully not too pricey. It would be cool to keep it in Montana. Hosting service, all necessary accesses and onsite hardware support will be provided.

We’re open to working with a freelancer or a firm. It is a few weeks of full time effort or longer if done on a part-time basis. Mainly, we’d like to find someone who has experience building sites on Drupal and has already gone through the learning curve.
