Call for Research Proposals – Interventions for diseases disproportionately affecting racial and ethnic minorities

This call for research proposals is unique for at least two reasons:

(1) inclusion of community-based participation

(2) recognition that geographic location (rural) is a key health determinant in the health disparity gap

"The overall goal of the NCMHD Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) initiative is to support community-based participatory research in planning, implementing, evaluating and disseminating effective interventions for diseases disproportionately affecting racial and ethnic minority and health disparity populations with low socioeconomic status, the medically underserved populations, and those living in rural areas in the U.S. The goal of the CBPR initiative is to reduce and eventually eliminate health disparities through partnerships between heath disparity populations and researchers."
