$1M grant to help Montana State University scientists make hydrogen fuel

Scientists at Montana State University have won a federal grant of nearly $1 million to try to solve a big, important riddle — how to make hydrogen a practical alternative to fossil fuels without burning up more energy than it saves.

Trevor Douglas, director of MSU’s Center for Bio-Inspired Nano-Materials http://www.cbin.montana.edu/ , said Wednesday that he and fellow researchers Mark Young and John Peters think they’ve found some promising answers.

“We want to take sunlight,” Douglas said, “and use it to make hydrogen.”
