Butte is booming

Butte real estate agent and developer Bill Markovich Jr. used to build a spec home or two each winter to keep his crews busy.

Now he is preparing to begin work on a subdivision and plans to build more than two dozen residential units. Other local developers are following suit and rising home prices in the area have out-of-town contractors from Billings and Bozeman buying lots.
