Mutual Aid Society of America, an intentional community, (MASA) has solved this problem, prospectively, that is. MASA will own all of the land and buildings on which the IC operates. When a member wishes to transfer to a different location, the IC in the new location provides for the residential usages and utilities.

This approach greatly facilitates movement within the organization. The "old" house will be occupied by a new or different member.
